Match Report:

Sixteen anglers took part in today's Sunday Open which was fished on the Magiscroft Island pond between 11am and 4pm. The weather was cold with gusting winds and clear skies bringing sunshine. As a typical spring day the winds produced air chill which made it rather cool at times. At to that the occasion hail storm and we had the typical early spring day. The match was pegged round the pond with two andglers miss a peg to allow some extra room for anglers to draw fish from.

It was Magiscroft's Pond specialist and International angler Colin Hart who holds all the winter records who fished his way to an easy win catching 67Lb-12oz from Peg No 27. Runner-up was fellow Internationalist Colin McKerrell fishing Pg No 11 catching 21Lb-6oz. Third place went to Magiscroft newcomer Wayne Henely who is beginning to get to grip with Scottish Coarse Fishing fishing Peg No.2 catching 18Lb-0oz. Fourth place went to Alex Mason fishing Peg No.3 catching 13Lb-9oz.

Given the conditions the anglers fished the pond not to badly and everyone caught on the day.

Well done to all.

Tommy Lauriston.

well done, cracken weight!!!
Just looking at the weigh sheet... wondering if thats a match weight record for the island pond?

Also wondering if you keep track off the match record weights for each pond, and what they stood at?
