Match Report:

Twelve anglers fished todays match and a welcome to James Thomson his first match for 3 years and to Colin Lavery his first Magiscroft match. Stewart Ritchie was also back again after last weeks return and fared far better.

The match was fished from 11am till 4pm on a dry warm day with enough wind to put a ripple on the water. As per the forecast there was a 10 min shower of rain just at the all out. The match also shared the Island Pond with the ELCAC match and it gave us a full pond pegged 2nglers / blank peg all the way round negating end pegs. ELCAC opted for the low numbers and that left the sweep the higher numbers.

Tommy Lauriston won the match fishing Peg 20 catching 24Lbs-6ozs. Tommy had a mixed catch of 35 fish including Carp and Bream and one little roach. He caught most of the day fishing across finding 2 foot deep fishing 6mm expander pellets over micros. In the latter stages of the match having seen Jimmy Hillhouse catch shallower Tommy shallowed up and caught at 15/ inches deep. The elastic used wasa singler 4 and not one fish was lost at the net. Time was taken with the larger carp and bream.

Eamonn fishing Peg 23 was in second place and like Jimmy Hillhouse last week on that peg most of his fish were small skimmers with a few carplets caught in the n earside margins.. Eamonn weighed 18Lbs 10ozs.

Barry Lindsay was third catching 12Lbs-11ozs of Peg number 29. Barry had mostly carp caught on pellet.

It was a good day all round with plenty bite to be had. Well done to all the framers. Next weeks match will be fished on The Woodside Pond.

Photos pending.

Tommy Lauriston.
