Match Report:
Seven fished the match and always going to be a hard match targeting silver fish as the pond was less than 24 hours ice free and the temp not due to rise above 3 degrees.
The match was double pegged with a section either side of the Island.
Section A Pegs 6, 8, 10, 12.
Section B Pegs 20, 22, 24.
Winner take all in both sections.
The end pegs for those who fished the pole was a big advantage with Darrin winning but not easily from Peg 6 with Scott taking second in the section. Darrin had a net of bigger roach and Scott had more roach of a lesser stamp. Darrin Managed to take the overall win and Scott overall 3rd.
Over on the other side Jamie McGlinchey on his end peg came close to Darrin with a net of roach weighing 2Lbs-9ozs for the section win. Dougie didn't fish the pole and concentrated on looking for a big fish. One bite and lost it.
Special mention to Jim Haveron catching his first matchday fish.
Hard day at the office for all. Well done to the framers.
Weather watch for Sunday's match when the temps go down again
Tommy Lauriston.
