Sunday Open - Main Loch - Sun
30 March 2008 A sharp overnight frost put a stop to the expected good catches and meant that Carp never moved onto the pole line. That suited Chris who planned to commit to feeder and hair-rigged corn and his method was right on the day for a clear win with 7 Carp, a skimmer and an Ide on peg 9. Ian had the best silver fish catch of Ide caught shallow at 13 metres on peg 6 for a well earned 2nd, but not enough to keep Chris out of the Ayrstrike final. 1st Chris Paton - 7lb 10½oz (3.470kg) See Pictures and discuss on

Sunday Open - Main Loch - Sun
30 March 2008 A pretty miserable day for the 10 who fished a sweep on the far side of the Main Loch. Rain pretty much stopped play and with no Carp and no roach feeding only a few Ide and Skimmers saved the day. Chris fished peg 49 and took most of his multi-coloured catch of Ide, Pink Orfe and Blue Orfe on worm in a burst in the middle of the match. Jim worked away with pellet to take 2nd place with a catch of skimmers.

23 March 2008 A really interesting match with a variety of tactics and fish caught, despite a biting cold wind with occasional snow ! Woody fished another tidy match on peg 18 steadily catching Carp on paste and corn at 13 metres to run out the winner. Colin had some nice skimmers in his net, from peg 12, also on paste - while James on 14 relied on pellet and was also rewarded with skimmers. 1st James

Ayrstrike Qualifier - Main Loch -
Sat
1 March 2008 Big Davie is the first angler to earn a coveted place in the Ayrstrike grand final after holding off Ewan Weed to win the first qualifier. Strong winds and a cold day made for miserable fishing conditions and low weights all round. So Davie concentrated on the feeder and took 5 Carp on Corn and maggot on peg 17. The speculation
at the weight-in was that Ewan might have done enough with his catch of
mainly skimmers from peg 11 ... but he was just ounces short. See Pictures and discuss on the Magiscroft Forum - here Full Press Release and details of more Ayrstrike matches |

Sun
17 February 2008 A 'natural baits only' match and with Carp
not really feeding silver fish made up most of the catches ... expect
for Stuart who had 2 near 3lb Carp to make up the bulk of his catch on
maggot bait via feeder filled with joker. George had the best of the
rest catch of mainly roach taken 6-8ft deep on pinkie. |

CIPS Rules League Match 3 - Main Loch -
Sun 27 January 2008 Congratulations to Simon Murray for edging through to win Scotland's first ever CIPS rules league. Simon did enough with a well earned section second while both leaders Colin McKerrell and Colin Hart just fell at the last hurdle. On a difficult day, with very few bigger fish feeding, Kevin made the best of the fish available for a mixed catch of small Roach, Ide and Skimmers to win using bloodworm and joker. CIPS Rules League Match 2 - Main Loch -
Sun 20 January 2008 Small Roach were the target for most of the 22 anglers in this second round match since Bream and Carp were not feeding. That played into Woody's hands and his bloodworm and joker game plan got him over 100 fish to edge out George by the narrowest margin. George fished for Skimmers and had a few along with roach on 14m pole with maggot and bloodworm. His last cast resulted in a 2lb Carp which only counted as 1lb. With the match weighed in kilos some hurried calculations were needed ... ultimately Woody triumphed by just 6 grams ... ¼ of an ounce ! Colin McKerrell and Colin Hart lead the league with 1 round left. Full Results and League Table - Here 1st James Woodrow - 4lb 8½oz (2.050kg) |

CIPS Rules League Match 1 - Island Pond -
Sun 13 January 2008 A frozen Main Loch meant that the first in the 3 match series had to be switched to the Island Pond. The 20 competitors were not deterred though led by Bobby who had a good catch of Carp with 2 Barbel and some Chub for a clear win. The rules specify no Carp baits, like pellets, corn or fishmeal, and carp over 1lb only count as 1lb. On the Island Pond though, Carp were always likely to be important and Bobby still managed enough on maggot at 11m and 14m on peg 7. He would normally have weighed around 30lb (instead of 15lb 14oz) including 1 Carp of 7lb! On the other side of the water the two Colins battled it out for 2nd place on pegs 22 & 23 with great catches of silver fish. Colin Mc fished pinkie over joker for 152 Roach to pip Colin H who went for a bigger stamp and included some quality Roach by feeding more chopped worm and caster. Full Results and League Table -

Sunday Open - Main Loch -
Sun 6 January 2008 Very late Carp for Davie and Jim thwarted young Stephen's valiant attempt to beat the 12 other hardy competitors on a very hard day. Stephen had a hard earned catch of skimmers and small Carp and was looking good for a win, since Carp had not fed all day, probably due to snow melt chilling the Main Loch down to 3 degrees. There was always a chance of the odd big fish as the light faded
though, and so it turned out with Jim getting his one Carp on Corn with
15 minutes to go, and Davie getting the match winning fish, also on
corn, with his last cast ! |

Sun 16 December 2007 Corn was the winning bait again, this time for 19 year old Kevin in an interesting match on a bitterly cold December day with ice on the water first thing. Kevin drew peg 26 and had a mainly carp catch. He caught most of his fish close to the island but importantly fed further away from the far bank to avoid spooking the fish. Dave fished a very good match for 2nd place, edging out George's Carp catch with his mixed net with plenty of silver fish on maggot first then corn later from peg 8. 1st Kevin Murphy - 29lb 13oz (13.520kg)

Celtic Cup International - Main Loch - Sun 19 Aug 2007 Magiscroft was honoured to host the second running of the Junior Celtic Cup between Scotland and Wales and it was a superb event that all enjoyed. After terrible weather on the Saturday practice day everyone expected a hard match but the Main Loch fished surprisingly well and the youngsters put on a great display with a very high standard of angling on both sides. After a very close battle the result went right down to the wire with Scotland just edging the match by 5 section wins to 4. 3 Main Loch, Island Pond & Top Pond - Sun 24 June 2007 A suitably exciting finish to a super series following this great match with a surprise result ! League leaders Magiscroft Juniors and Airdrionians faltered at the final hurdle and Lanarkshire took advantage to overtake them ... but it was Freida's Favourites who swept ahead from 6th place and 15 points behind to win the match and the league with a dominant performance.
Sponsored (with pink T-shirts) by Freida from the Lochview Cafe ... her Favourites had the individual winner on the day in Chris Hughes, and 3 section 2nd places from Lorna Figures, Paul Vernel and Jim Hillhouse. Chris won through on the day with a 28lb catch of Ide and some Carp from peg 5 on the Island pond. Well done also to young Craig McGhee for a great display to come second with a 21lb catch of Carp on the waggler to win the Main Loch. In the Individual league, Gary McKay showed his consistency to win ahead of Jim Hillhouse and David Anderson. Well done to all who helped and took part, especially to all those who had the best overall results in their teams and won a free day's fishing at Magiscroft. Special thanks to Chris Hughes for his splendid organisation and good humoured presentations, Freida for a lovely final buffet and last (but not least) Derek Brady of the Barras Fruit Co. who's generous sponsorship and encouragement made for such a successful event, enjoyed greatly by all. Barras Fruit Co. Pleasure League - Match
2 Main Loch, Island Pond & Top Pond - Sun 3 June 2007 The Barras Pleasure League continued with an exciting round 2. Though conditions were tricky with cool rain, the weights were better than the first match with good catches on all of the waters. The Airdrionians put on a great show for a clear team win and the individual winner in Gary McKay. Gary had a great catch, mainly carp, on the Top Pond of around 200 fish. Airdrionans also closed right up on Magiscroft Juniors who still lead the league with one match to go, but only by 3 points. Should be a very tense but exciting final match on 24th June ! Mon 28 May 2007 Woody is on top form at the moment and powered to a clear win over a 'sell out' field of 28 with a great all silver fish catch on a tricky night when the fish, especially Carp, were playing hard to get. Woody drew peg 9 and as expected he had a good start with Ide on worm, but he built his win in the last half of the match by working hard to eke out Chub, Orfe and the odd Ide on caster. Kevin completed the 1-2 for Magiscroft yongsters with a nice mixed catch. 1st James Woodrow - 29lb 0oz (13.160kg)

Magiscroft Club Summer League 2 Main Loch - Sun 27 May 2007 Jim was both a winner and a loser, after fighting titantic battles with big Carp in the latest Magiscroft Club match. Fishing peg 33 Jim had a relatively quiet match until late on when he hooked into a 6lb Carp that he played for nearly 10 minutes and netted with 6 sections of pole in the air. That fish helped him to the win, but shortly after a bigger 7lb+ fish gave him the same kind of long fight ... this time the fish came out on top by smashing Jim's No.6 section and escaping (pole and fish rescued later). Jim won the match, and the Golden Peg, which unfortunately was only 1 match old and £21, so his combined winnings were not enough to pay for an expensive new pole section. Margaret Rae tops the league standing after 2 matches with 12 points. 1st Jim Hillhouse - 13lb 8oz (6.130kg) Pairs 1st Jim Hillhouse & Jim Jones - 21lb 12oz (9.870kg)

Barras Fruit Co. Pleasure League - Match 1 Main Loch, Island Pond & Top Pond - Sun 13 May 2007 The first Barras Pleasure League got off to an exciting start with a fantastic turnout. The 16 teams of 4 made for one of the biggest matches in Scotland in years and generated a tremendous big match atmosphere, but in a friendly setting. The build up to this series has been very enthusiastic and everybody enjoyed the tension of the draw then the banter during the competition, weigh-in and results presentation. The team event was a very close fought match generally, with 2nd to 6th places only separated by 1 point. However Magiscroft Juniors broke the mould, winning by a big margin with 52 points, a brilliant performance from the youngsters. A change of weather, for the worse, led to some tricky fishing in places but Paul Vernel showed the way with a great catch of Carp mainly on paste for a clear individual win ahead of Stef who was standing in to help out Scott's CAC. Roll on the next match in the series - in only 2 weeks time on 3rd June ! Full League And Individual Results here Individuals Top Teams

Paul was way out on his own with a great catch on a really hard day when everyone else struggled. Drawn on end peg 19 Paul cleverly fished close in to his right in about 6ft of water. That was where he quickly caught 3 big Carp to 6lb on paste before picking off a number of smaller Carp to win by a big margin. The rest of the 19 competitors couldn't catch Carp, perhaps due to the cold east wind, and Big Davie's hard earned catch of skimmers was a distant second. 1st Paul Joyce - 22lb 6oz (10.150kg)

Magiscroft Club Winter League 3 - Island
Pond Sun 18 Feb 2007 Bobby set a new Island Pond match record with a super all Carp catch of 49lb 2½oz from peg 24. He and Jim on the next peg drew where the Carp were tightly shoaled after an icy night. Both were plagued with line bites and foul hooked fish. It was Bobby who came out well on top of the 20 anglers by fishing sweetcorn hookbait over pellet on 13m pole. He found that fishing well away from his baited area produced better bites and more fish. On the low numbered pegs all of the weights came on feeder and bomb to the far bank. That's how Margaret fished and she put in a great performance for well earned 3rd place with a nice net of Carp. 1st Bobby Marshall - 49lb 2½oz (22.290kg) 2nd Jim Hillhouse - 26lb 8oz (12.020kg) 3rd Margaret Rae - 18lb 4oz (8.280kg) 4th Kevin Murphy - 12lb 5½oz (5.600kg) Pairs

New Year Open - Top Pond - Tue 2 January
2007 A great start to the new year for Colin who obliterated the Magiscroft match record with an expert performance and super 79lb 6oz catch of carp around 1lb in the traditional New Year Open. The carp are shoaling tightly at the moment in the cold weather but Colin still had to work hard and think fast to make the most of his good draw on peg 5. He had a slow first hour unlike others who got a good start round the Top Pond, then he caught steadily for the rest of the 4½ hour match while the rest slowed right down. Part of Colin's success was due to very careful feeding with very little corn using corn on the hook right across to the island. 'Woody' is on top form at the moment and had the best catch on the other side of the pond with 31lb 12oz, but he had no choice but to settle for second, nearly 48lb behind Colin ! 1st Colin Hart - 79lb 6oz (36.000kg)

December
2006 James Woodrow didn't have to smash any ice this boxing day, but he did smash the Magiscroft match record with a 'Christmas Cracker' of a catch (45lb 6½oz) in an excellent match given the very cold conditions. 'Woody' took nearly all of his fish with sweetcorn tight to the far bank on peg 4. After a slow start he caught carp steadily through the 4½ hours of the competition. Gary was matching Woody for a while on the next peg (3) but lost the fish in the last hour. David fished a very good match on the other side of the pond to take 3rd with the biggest match catch taken by a junior at Magiscroft. Silver Fish Open - Island Pond - Sun 3 December
2006 The competitors voted the first ever Magiscroft silver fish only match a popular success after an unusual and interesting event on a cold, blustery and rainy day. He could have had more Ide if carp hadn't kept getting in the way ... he had to put back 30-40lb of carp to 4lb ! June 2006 A move to the Top Pond made a great change and the fishing was good too. Colin concentrated on Orfe and Ide first on peg 8, then caught more Carp in the last hour to nearly break the Top Pond 3-hour record. 1st Colin McKerrell - 27lb 4½oz

Sunday Open - Main Loch - Sunday 11
June 2006 Silver fish didn't show much in the heat but the Carp more than made up for that and made most of the leading catches in a very close match. Karl fed positively for Carp with pellets (and prawn hookbait) on a medium pole line on peg 36 and was rewarded with a great burst in mid match which helped him overcome Bobby on the next peg. 1st Karl Altdorfer - 22lb 12oz |

Monday Evening Open - Island Pond - Monday 5
June 2006 The man in the hat continued his good form on the Island Pond to power his way to a clear win and a new Magiscroft 3 hour match record. When he drew peg 10 Chris knew he was in the right place to make a big catch of Ide and he concentrated on keeping the fish down near the bottom feeding worm and caster. Gordon took another approach on Peg 1 and had a nice catch of Carp for second, mainly on pellet. 1st Chris Hughes - 32lb 14½oz (14.930kg)

SFCA Scottish League - Match 1 - Main Loch & Island Pond Sunday 28 May 2006 Howling winds and cool conditions kept weights down and made for a difficult match for some. But a good team contest ensued deservedly won by the Arctic Monklands well clear of Monklands Dobbers in 2nd. George took the individual honours with a hard earned catch of mainly Carp from peg 6 on the Island Pond. George took most of his catch at nearly 16 metres on sweetcorn, unlike 2nd placed Chris who caught a lot of big Ide early on worm with a late burst of Carp. Bobby wasn't far behind with a very good catch of Carp from Main Loch peg 18, and Ian won the other Main Loch section from peg 31 with 14lb 4½oz, also of Carp. Full Report, results and Pictures here on SFCA website. 1st George Glen - Magiscroft - 22lb 3oz (10.060kg) |

Monday Evening Open - Island Pond - Monday 22
May 2006 A near 6lb Ghost Carp helped seal victory for George on an evening when a shower of hailstones summed up just how cold it was. The conditions did not make for record breaking catches, but it was still a very good contest and the sellout attendance shows that places will be in high demand on Mondays. George had an unusually slow match with very few Ide and small fish. But when he did get fish, they were usually good sized Carp taken on worm at 12 metres and pellet and Corn right across at 16 metres on Peg 6. Darren was on unfancied peg 28 but did a great job to catch a lot of Ide for second place. 1st George Glen - 25lb 7oz (11.540kg)

Magiscroft Summer League 2 - Main Loch - Sunday
21 May 2006 2 wins in a row continued Derek's flying start in the series. It was a tough match for most but Derek took full advantage of end peg 39 to steadily catch small Carp and some Skimmers for a clear win. Rab also fished a good match for a similar catch on peg 10. 1st Derek Brady - 10lb 7½oz
(4.740kg)

Monday Evening Open - Island Pond - Monday 15
May 2006 Darren was only one fish short of the Magiscroft 3-Hour match record (32lb 3oz) with a great catch of Ide. Though the cool and rainy conditions were far from ideal, catches were excellent, averaging over 15lb, and this promises more great matches over the coming weeks with even bigger weights. Darren could have had more but he had to eke out his bait which slowed his catch rate later in the match. Quality Ide were the mainstay of his catch, taken on worm and caster on peg 8. Ian fished another good match on peg 19 for an excellent mixed bag to just pip Mark for second place. 1st Darren Ferguson - 31lb 9oz (14.320kg)

Sunday Open - Main Loch - Sunday
14 May 2006 A sharp drop in temperature meant weights were lower than expected but this was a very fair match for a good turn out of 23, with decent catches spread all along the fair side. George took the majority of his winning catch of small carp close in, the same tactics used by Ralph. Maggot was the best bait for George, but Ralph also caught fish on corn. Rab had a nice catch of skimmers and silver fish for 3rd on a day when skimmers were playing hard to get. 1st George Glen - 9lb 0oz

Magiscroft Summer League 1 - Main Loch - Sunday
30 April 2006 A great start to the series for Derek who led the way with a nice catch of small carp on peg 36 to beat Chris off the next peg. Derek started off catching small fish on the long pole but a switch to a close in line was successful and that was where he took most of his catch on maggot bait feeding pellet. For Chris it was 'close but no cigar', and he came second in the pairs with partner Jim Hillhouse behind the winners Derek and Brian Wallace. Ralph had a late carp of 5lb 3oz to help him to third individual. 1st Derek Brady - 11lb 10½oz

Sunday Open - Main Loch - Sunday
16 April 2006 Woody endured a nervous last hour since Scott was catching him up rapidly later in the match but Scott was agonisingly just one fish short. Woody cupped in maggot with the occasional small ball of fishmeal groundbait on Peg 3. His catch was all carp mainly on Maggot hookbait. Scott, on peg 4, had a very quiet first two hours then caught well to the end but a few lost fish cost him dearly and Woody took a couple of carp late on to clinch it. 1st James Woodrow - 11lb 15oz |

Sunday Open - Main Loch - Sunday 9 April
2006
Stewart is rueing losing as many fish as he landed, allowing Ewan to win their peg to peg battle. After really cold nights the fish stayed deep and though Ewan loose fed a lot of maggots he still caught most of his mixed catch of Carp, Roach, Chub and Skimmers near the bottom in the deep water with double white maggot the best bait. 1st Ewan Weed - 9lb 1½oz |

Sunday Open - Main Loch - Sunday 2 April
2006 A bonus Carp of 3lb+ helped George to his 3rd win in 3 Sundays. With only small fish feeding along the cafe bank, that Carp was vital and George found the fish to be taking maggot well off the bottom (10ft deep) on 20ft deep peg 21. Michael was not far behind with a busy catch of small carp taken only 4 sections out on peg 10. He took all his fish on sweetcorn over swimstim pellets. 1st George Glen - 6lb 0oz

Sunday Open - Main Loch - Sunday 26 March 2006 George took full advantage of end peg 18 in deep water for a clear win on a day when the fish did not feed after heavy rain. He had 15 Carp mainly taken on maggot only 5 metres out. Bobby could only catch on the slider again, taking only small fish. 1st George Glen - 11lb 4½oz |
Magiscroft Club Pairs - Island Pond - Sunday 19 March 2006 Island Pond catches are gradually improving with Spring around the corner and George just managed to hold off Colin in a good close match. George's net was mainly good sized Ide taken shallow on Maggot but he was glad of a late run of Chub to keep in front at the end. Colin fished for Carp late on and got a couple but lost one at the death that would have won it for him. The fact that George and Colin were drawn together made the pairs contest a formality ! 1st George Glen - 15lb 3oz Pairs |
Sunday Open - Main Loch - Sunday 19 March 2006 Expectations were high after big catches on Saturday but, perhaps through changing weather, the fishing was harder. Bobby had caught a lot of Carp on the pole the day before but had to resort to his favourite slider method in the match to pick together a mixed bag and take the spoils. 1st Bobby Marshall - 5lb 3oz |
Sunday Open - Island Pond - Sunday 5 March 2006 Well done to Dave for a good win on a tough day. He took some nice Ide to hold off Woody who is fishing well but is rueing the number of fish he lost. 1st Dave Richardson - 5lb 15oz |
Sunday Open - Main Loch - Sunday 26 February 2006 Big Davie fished a good match to edge out George on another hard Winter's day. George looked likely to win with 2 decent Carp but Davie took 3 smaller Carp. Davie went for small fish on the pole in the last hour to overtake George who lost another Carp at the death. 1st Davie Corcoran - 4lb ½oz |

Sunday Open - Island Pond - Sunday 12 February A good match given the time of year and Chris had a nice mixed catch of Ide, Orfe and Carp for a clear win. He fished long pole across to the island on peg 3 using mainly maggot. 1st Chris Paton - 15lb 5oz (6.950kg) |
Sunday Open - Main Loch - Sunday 5 February 2006 A really tough match and, though there were bites to be had from small fish, one big hybrid for Woody and 1 bream for Judith were enough to take the money. 1st James Woodrow - 1lb 8oz |
![]() 2nd Judith Richardson |
Sunday Open - Top Pond - Sunday 29 Jan 2006 Another newcomer to matchfishing won the latest Open and it was even more special for Ralph since he had a fantastic catch to break the Top Pond match record into the bargain. Even more unusual was that Ralph fished the waggler instead of the pole, used by everyone else, and he did it brilliantly to take a succession of Carp to 1lb on sweetcorn, feeding plenty of corn too. Big Davie pushed Ralph close from the next peg and was only a kilo behind but suffered from a quiet middle spell. Dave Richardson was the third placed man on the other side of Ralph. The match was split into two sections and Karl Altdorfer did well to win the harder far side section and claim 2nd place prize in the continental style payout. 1st Ralph Smith - 29lb 7oz (13.350kg)
Sunday Open - Island Pond - Sunday 22 Jan 2006 A 2lb 10oz Carp help Jack to the win in his first match at Magiscroft. Along with a few skimmers all taken on feeder with red maggot it was enough to beat Bobby's net of small skimmers on the pole. 1st Jack McArdle - 3lb 1½oz |
Sunday Open - Island Pond - Sunday 15 Jan 2006 Another hard day in tough Winter conditions but most were able to manage bites from small fish all along the line. 'Woody' fished a tidy match and led the way by fishing shallow on the pole, loose feeding pinkies for a good catch in the conditions of mainly small Roach and Ide. 1st James Woodrow - 2lb 11oz |
Sunday Open - Island Pond - Sunday 8 Jan 2006 Heavy ice and sub-zero temperatures could not put off the hardy bunch of competitors who had to break the ice, and keep breaking it, just to get a float in the water! Karl plugged away sensibly for a catch of over 60 small fish on maggot and pinkie for a clear win on a rock hard day. 1st Karl Altdorfer - 2lb 5oz |
New Year Open - Top Pond - Monday 2 Jan 2006 The Open match on the Top Pond on 2nd January is becoming a tradition and just like on Boxing Day the ice had to be broken to allow the match to go ahead. As on Boxing Day, the Carp did feed, but in fewer pegs, mainly those nearest the cafe. All that didn't worry Ralph though who fished well to win only his
third ever match with a great catch on Carp. He learned from his
experience in the Boxing Day match and fed very small pinches of bread
and switched between bread punch and corn on the hook. Jem came
close with another good net taken on pinkie and squatt on a light rig
with a size 24 hook!
Boxing Day Open - Top Pond - Sunday 26 Dec 2005 The now 'traditional' Boxing Day open was nearly cancelled due to ice
on half of the Top Pond. But when bread was thrown out to encourage
ducks to break the ice .. and the carp came up to eat it, the amazed
competitors needed no more encouragement to go ahead !

Sunday Sweep - Island Pond - Sunday 18 December Back to tough cold Winter days again and this was a grueller. Chris
only needed two carp and two silver fish to win, whereas Gary worked
hard for over 60 small fish yet still missed out.
Sunday Sweep - Island Pond - Sunday 11 December A very good match for December and a warmer day saw the Carp feed
better in the shallower pegs at the far end, which is where the winners
came from. Gary had a great all Carp catch from peg 11 with fish
to over 2lb mainly on Pellet. A big ghostie helped Woody to a
clear second place ahead of Paul who fished another good match.
Magiscroft Club - Main Loch - Sunday 27 November Hard conditions again but that didn't stop a hard fought pairs match
with every fish important. Chris won out with some small carp on
the feeder from peg 20 ahead of Derek with 1 bigger carp and George with
a collection of small fish on a 7 metre Bolognese rod ! Pairs
Sunday Sweep - Main Loch - Sunday 20 Nov Freezing cold nights and a brutal frost threatened to ice over the
Main Loch but the match went ahead which was good news for Karl.
He fished a groundbait feeder on peg 20 and caught 4 Carp with maggot or
pellet on the hook for a clear victory while the rest struggled.
Sunday Sweep - Main Loch - Sunday 13 Nov A sharp overnight drop in temperatures was guaranteed to put the fish
off feeding but amazingly there was still plenty of bites to be had (and
missed!) and an interesting match resulted. George added a 1lb carp to
his catch of skimmers taken on feeder and bomb to edge out Bobby.

such a great job in the 6 Nations and Celtic Cup in the Summer. Thanks

pick of the lot with a well earned win. Everyone had an enjoyable day and Daiwa donated prizes of quality

other tackle for all competitors including the great Gamakatsu range of
hooks. Prizes presented by Scotland Team Manager Chris Paton

Sunday Sweep - Main Loch - Sunday 6 Nov Carp were needed to win the day but colder weather had pushed them
deeper out of pole range so feeder was the winning method. Well done to
Paul who had a late run of carp on feeder and worm to overtake Darren
who had the early lead.

Magiscroft Club - Main Loch - Sunday 30 October Trevor was the only one who could make the 'tip' work well when he fished the feeder for clear win on an unusually difficult day. Trevor only set up the tip rod and was rewarded with some nice Carp mainly on pinkie from peg 41. A carp over 2lb and a few skimmers helped Dave into second from peg 22. 1st Trevor Bond - 8lb 6½oz

Sunday Sweep - Main Loch - Sunday 23 October After two cold nights the Carp moved down into deep water leaving most struggling except George who had end peg 18 in the deepest water. Well done to Barry for a great campaign. Brian Docherty took the honours on the day with a nice catch of Carp from peg 33 on worm, corn and pellet. That helped his team of three, including Kevin Murphy and Chris Paton, to victory. Billy took most of his fish in the last hour to pinch second, a great comeback that maybe had something to do with his 'Most Improved Angler' award.
