3rd Place..Dougie Campbell..Peg No 16..4Lbs-0oz

Match Report:

Only 3 anglers turned out to fish today. Too much attention paid to BBC Weather report. Metcheck forecast was posted and was very accurate with just 3 10min showers of moderate rain throughout the match. It was a good day for fishing overcast and no sun blinding anyone. The temp was very mild for the time of the year. The pond was colored up and a sign it would fish well.

The match was pegged on Pegs 14, 16 and 18. Tommy allowed Frank and Dougie to draw first as both carry no luck in the drawing. Tommy's theory worked as he got the windward end peg.

From the off Tommy was catching to start with up the far shelf using pellet, At first, he dribbled in 10 micros but abandoned that after he knew he was on the carp. By the end of the match, Tommy had fed a full bag of micros. Tommy caught up the shelf catching small F1s and after an hour started feeding the fish down the shelf and began catching carp up to 2.5Lbs amongst the smaller fish. Tommy caught 2 Tench, a Chub, a Bream and 47 Carp which when weighed was 36Lbs for an easy win.

Frank also had a good net of fish weighing 10Lbs-6ozs. Frank only had 1 small carp, Breem and 6Lbs of quality roach. A great days fishing for November. Frank took second place from Dougie who had a bad day at the office losing fish breaking rigs and couldn't get the tip rod to work. Dougie weighed in 4Lbs which at the end of the day is a good winter weight,

Well done all fishing a Winter knockup. The next match is Sunday 11th November 2018 on the Island Pond. A thread has already been opened.

Don't beat yourself up Dougie. You were the only angler not on an end peg. When not catching just keep positive and changing things to try and catch. 4Lbs is a good weight for this time of year. You are still a youngster in Match Fishing and learning every match and have had quite a few match wins. It is not all that long since your last match win. When I started match fishing 15 years ago I spent my first two years as a member of Magiscroft Club fishing not to be last. I learned loads during that period by watching others and asking questions. You are keen and turning up yesterday shows how keen. Power to your elbow. :rock
