Match Report:

A last-minute change to the Top Pond today brought about a good days fishing for the time of year for all. No blanks today. Six anglers turned out and the match was fished from 10-30am till 3-30pm. The weather was cold with medium winds and rain showers some heavy on and off. The match was double pegged from 7 to 18 with Peg 11 and 14 getting an extra space between them.

The fishing started of real slow for everyone other than Dougie the Tip. Dougie managed to draw an end Peg and had a 3Lb Carp in his net vis his trusty tip Rod early on. During the first hour, Tommy and Bryan managed to catch a few bits prior to Dougie catching a further 3 Lb Carp on his tip rod. At that time all thought it was Goodnight Vienna and Dougie's Match. Not so as it is fishing.

As the match went into the second half Pegs 14, 16 and 18 began to produce fish.

Bryan Hewitt then began to catch in his right margin and quickly had a few good sized carp in his net. Bryan went on to take his weight to 10Lbs-2ozs for the victory. Dougie added a further two Tip Carp and weighed 8Lbs-5ozs to take second place. Frank Smith had an excellent all silvers catch of 6Lbs-1oz for 3rd Place with Geoff Lowe weighing in 4Lbs-7ozs for fouth. Frankie had a good carp and a silver for 3Lbs-12oz to relegate Tommy who had a mixed catch with 3Lbs-2ozs to last.

Well done to all the framers and all for turning out. It was a good match for the time of year which allowed people to be out fishing.

The Midweek Match will be posted up by John when the weather is known.

There will be a match next weekend, watch for John's Post.
