Match Report:

Six anglers turned out for todays match which was pegged on the deeper pegs. It was pegged clockwise on every other Peg from Peg 22 to 02. The match was fished from 10-30pm till 3-30pm on the shortest day of the year. The temp was 6 degrees and got colder and misty halway through the match.

It turned out to be a battle between Tommy and Darrin and Tommy took full advantage of his end peg to put Darrin's challenge to bed.

Tommy Fished for silvers all day long and after a poor first hour with 3 roach he changed to fishing over depth and started to get a run of fish in his net. His bonus fish were 4 Perch all 12ozs plus and two skimmers one at 12oz and one over 1Lb. It was a good day for Tommy and all fish were caught on a single pinkie fished over chopped up maggots mixed with Swimstim and mud. All caught at bottom of shelf on the farside of the swim. Tommy's weight was 7Lbs-6ozs.

Darrin had a few bonus fish that included 2 carp and a good Perch and a 12oz skimmer. He weighed 5Lbs-5ozs. Perhaps he will tell us how he fished his match.

A hard day at the office for the remainder of the angler.

We are looking to run a sweep on Sunday on the Island if anyone is interested. There will also be an open match next Wednesday weather permitting.

Tommy Lauriston.

Thanks to all for a great day. Although very cold and no bites, the banter amongst the guys more than made up for this. I will try to learn from Tommy and Darrin's feeding patterns, hopefully drawing a few fish into my swim. Thanks to all at Magiscroft for a great day. :D
